MFP keeps lowering my calories...

I've been on MFP for 55 days and loving it, the accountability is wonderful and knowing that everything I eat should feed my body with a micro nutrient has been a little life changing, however, MFP took me down to 1280 calories a day and my weight loss stalled. Should I go in and manually take my calories back up to where I was successfully losing?? Has anyone encountered this?

If they are lowering your calories , it must be because you are putting in weight lost. when you lose weight they lower your calories becaue your body dosent need that many anymore to continue through the day.
However I am never at my calorie goal, im Always away from it because I like to make a bigger deficent to lose more.
Not everyone agrees but I also do IF (one meal a day).
Goodluck

If it ain't broke don't fix it. If you were losing at a higher calorie amount, then yes, I'd manually change it back to what was working for you.0 -
Looking at your diary, it doesn't seem that you are eating back your exercise calories very often. MFP already has your deficit built in your goal, so it is designed for you to eat your exercise calories back (or at least a decent portion of them) in order for it to work properly.
Also, if you have your goal set to 2lbs a week loss, as you lose weight, that might not be the appropriate goal for you any more. Consider dropping your settings to lose 1b a week, since you have less to lose now.0 -
Keep in mind that as you get smaller your body uses fewer calories. So you'll need to lower your calories in order to maintain the same rate of weight loss.
But, as you get closer to goal weight you actually want to slow your rate of loss to help maintain health and muscle mass. As a general rule of thumb:
More than 75 lbs to lose: 2 lbs/week
40-75 lbs: 1.5 lbs/week
10-40 lbs: 1 lb/week
Less than 10 lbs: 0.5 lb/week
And remember that if you're using MFP's setup and you have your activity level set to sedentary or lightly active, you should be logging your workouts and eating back at least some of your earned exercise calories.0 -
