I've decided to start accurately checking now many calories I burn during a workout so I need a Heart a Rate Monitor that I can take out with me. At the moment, my budget is quite limited so I need one at a reasonably low price point. Ability to link it to RunKeeper is a bonus but not a necessity.

My husband loves his Zephyr bluetooth. IIRC, it wasn't too expensive, and it connects with RunKeeper. I love my Polar FT4, which is about $60 on Amazon. It does not connect, but it's not too difficult to just enter my info manually.
(I don't know why, but the Android Zephyr is like $20 more expensive than the iPhone one on Amazon. Weird, right?)0 -
You can buy the Polar HT7 Bluetooth HRM and it syncs to your smartphone. Comes with a strap. I believe its like $49 at best buy0
