for bodybuilders that know all about gaining mass ?

im 165 , 5'11 18% bf male . how many grams of protein would you recommend for me personally to gain some muscle and little fat. better yet just how many grams of protein do you guys yourself try to take in ?

    If you are indeed 18% body fat I might shy away from gaining mass at this point. If your goal is a bodybuilder/aesthetic physique then you might want to start gaining mass from a lower body fat percentage. 10-12 is a better starting point. If you are sure you wish to start gaining mass now, then I'd recommend a minimum of about 140 grams.

    I would say a MINIMUM of 1-1.5 grams of protein per pound of body weight. If you are 165 lbs, you should be consuming a minimum of 165 grams of protein.

    Science suggests otherwise. Need higher protein intake to retain LBM while cutting. Not as much required for bulking.

    Eric Helm's recent study suggest 2.3-3.1g/kg of FFM for lean individuals cutting.

    Around 1g/lb or 2.2g/kg will be more than adequate to maximise anabolism.

    0.82g of protein per lb. of body-weight, anything more is overkill.
