Birth Control and Weight Gain

Hi, I was just wondering what different people's experiences have been with birth control in terms of weight gain (or knowledge of the matter). I am asking because my metabolism seemed to significantly drop when I started taking birth control. After the time I began taking it, I gained about 25lbs. I just got off of it about a week ago, for the first time in about 2 years. It is too soon to tell whether it has positively effected my weight loss, but so far, I weighed 132lbs 2 days ago, and 130lbs today.

Birth control does not make you gain fat weight. It can make you gain water weight however it will not lead to fat gain unless you change something.
I have been on a few different types over the years and never gained fat weight unless I changed something. The change of hormones can make you feel more hungry leading to an increase of calories. It can make you feel more tired leading to a decrease of activity.0
