Ok so I'm leaving in a little over a week to go skiing for thanksgiving break (WAHOOOO!) so I need to buy just enough for like a week and a half of food planning. I'm really bad about buying extra stuff that goes bad in my fridge, and I'm not very good at planning my meals *i have to have good foods that I'll actually eat when there's someone next to me with pizza in their hand at school/clinical* Anyone have any suggestions of good meals or good snacks or just general shopping items you like??

rice cakes are great for snacking if you're into that sort of thing. They have caramel ones that taste amazing. You can top one with a little peanut or almond butter and its a great snack that will fill you up.

get lots of veggies, and pre-cut them all and put them in tupperware or plastic baggies so they are ready to take with you.
  • Light cheese sticks. Hard Boiled Eggs. Rice Cakes. Almonds. Homemade Trail Mix. Salads with dressing in a separate container. Yogurt. Instant Soup Mixes, watch out for sodium though. Bagel thins with some light cream cheese and 1oz turkey slices. Apples and caramel jello mousse temptations. Carrots and hummus. Pre-made turkey burgers. I don't have much info to offer haha, but I hope that helps some.

Buy the veggies, but from experience put them in the small baggies... you dont want to be washing 30 plastic containers while you are trying to pack. I would make some yummy soup for this week. It normally takes me as much time or longer to eat my soup as it does for my friends to eat their bad food... so I am not done and watching them still eat things like pizza :D Or make pizza... just make it healthier!

Make some smoothies. I take mine to class/clinicals with me every morning! Plus I carry along at least 2 snacks for everyday. Things like nuts and dried fruit, nature valley bars, hot tea, seasoned crackers, carrot sticks, cucumber stick, bell pepper sticks, cheese sticks, 1/4 cup beans semi-pureed with a pita,

basically things that dont have to be refigerated at all time. However, I do pack a lunch as well, and carry refrigerated items in there.
