Well to cut a seriously long story short , my girlfriend is stick thin. I'm obviously over-weight , im 24 pounds away from my goal weight. I stopped with my diet just over under 4 weeks ago. I didn't feel all the effort i was putting in was going anywhere , running 7 times a day (Which actually caused me a injury) , i was barely loosing any weight , i was eating right for weeks on end , and the weight just didn't want to come off. It was a total motivational blow for me.

It also didn't help my girlfriend constantly going on and on about the living room space being taken up for 40 minutes a day for me to do my exercise , no one seems to be on board with any of lifestyle changes , i purchased a treadmill with extra money i had and i had my fathering in law screaming down the house saying all sorts of nasty crap about other things we need. I had the same rowing machine for years and it eventually caved in , i didn't even buy the treadmill brand new i brought it second hand.

I just keep constantly getting knocked off when i feel as though i'm on top. Something always comes along and finds a way of getting under my skin and ruining what i worked so hard to achieve. My mental illness was being managed threw exercise as well , things where really looking up.

So enough of the sob story , i took away a few things from the last 4 weeks , things i think might help me get back onto the straight and narrow , **** what everyone else thinks just do what you want to do , if they don't see what your trying to do for your health then don't give them the time or space.

I think the one thing that really frustrated me was when people said lifting 30kg in weight will not help you loose weight , being constantly told to increase the weight and bicep curls won't do anything for weight loss. I managed to loose just over 6 stone just doing bicep curls and rowing 5 times a week , and i actually got told by a user on here it was impossible. -.-

I'm starting back up again soon , but im going to put a new twist on things.

4 or 5 days a week of exercise healthy lean meats , and absolutely 0 sugar unless i get it from the odd portion of fruit. I'm in the process of writing up a new plan.

Let nothing stop you dude... Lifting and building a little or a lot of muscle will burn WAY more fat than running. Muscle burns energy just to exist...the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn at rest.

Do you have a gym nearby to deal with the space complaints? She might decide she prefers you cluttering up the place rather than not being there :)

I'm inside the house , i cant leave my house unless i have someone with me. I'm extremely limited to where i can go and what i can do , my social anxiety reaches limits most people wouldn't understand , i have extremely complex needs. Full diagnose is borderline personality disorder.

I hate having to tell people that , but you cornered me.

It sounds to me like you're working too hard. Extreme exercise and diet routines are a constant hassle, and I wonder if you'll be able to keep it up for the rest of your life. Maybe ease up a little -- you don't *have* to work out hard every day and eat 0 sugar, etc. to lose weight and be healthy. Enjoy a day off now and then...you'll be happier and more relaxed and more apt to stick with it over the long term.

Edited after I saw your post about leaving the house...

You could do resistance training with just body weight -- push ups, ab work, etc? Girlfriend could go running with you outside?

    Hi

Firstly no one cornered you and you don't need to be defensive we are all here for same reasons, secondly your attitude is a bit unhealthy this isn't a diet and running 7 times a day is obsessive unless you mean you ran in 10 minute bursts? still unnecessary in my opinion. Whoever told you doing bicep curls wont do anything etc is wrong anything you do activity wise burns calories and yes lifting helps keep lean muscle instead of burning it up.
I think you are over complicating things firstly I would suggest getting food sorted don't cut anything because as humans you cut it you crave it and no sugar at all is pretty impossible its in most foods. Why not just put in your stats and let MFP tell you what you need to eat to lose 0.5lbs a week don't aim for higher you only have 24lbs so be sensible once you figure this out then figure out exercise I think you failed before as you tried too much too soon and got lost a bit and maybe a tad obsessed so strip it back and keep it simple. Feel free to add me I lift 6kg yup that's it I started with 2kg and have worked up to 6kg im not muscular or toned but my body is getting there. Its not a sprint its a life long marathon
