Depends on whether you're breastfeeding or not. If you are breastfeeding make sure you're taking in enough calories. If you're not, just do what you'd normally do but with a LOT of added patience! LOL

I'm 5-months post pregnancy so feel free to friend me!

I'm trying very hard to control my insane food cravings. I think mine is a combo of breastfeeding and my thyroid levels being extremely hyper. As long as I stay around 1900-2100 calories, my scale has a downward trend. If I don't track, then I eat closer to 2500. I'm 3 months pp.

I'm trying to get in lots of walking throughout the day and body weight exercises at least twice a week. Ten pounds to go to back to pre-pregnancy #2 weight. Ten more pounds after that to get back to pre-pregnancy #1 weight that I never was able to lose.

I started walking right away. Around 7 weeks I logged back into MFP and followed my calorie limit. I lost about 15-20 lbs that way. Took a short break and maintained, then in January I got back into it and added kickboxing/strength training/jogging while continuing to follow my calorie limit. I've lost another 12 lbs that way. Took another break and I'm back again to lose the final 12 lbs to get me down to 120. Just listen to your body when it comes to food and exercise. Naptimes and bedtime are my times to workout so I can do it without interruptions. Walking around the neighborhood with our daughter in a stroller is still one of my favorite exercises, since she loves to be outside and I love to get my steps in for the day. Depending on how newly postpartum you are, your medical provider might have some recommendations to get your started. Good luck! :flowerforyou:

I'm 6 weeks pp and just started trying to lose the weight. I had a c-section, so will still have to be careful exercising (tried to plank today, but the incision started to hurt..)

I am breastfeeding, so I know I have to be careful...

Looking forward to the journey. With my son, I only started trying to lose the weight 9 months pp - so 6 weeks this time is a good start!

    Feel free to add me...

It's been almost two years since I had my daughter. I've only gained weight in that time (I was at my prepregnacy weight a week after I gave birth) I have breastfed the entire time, and I don't know why my body seemed to miss the "Breastfeeding helps you lose weight" memo, or whether I just would have put on a lot MORE weight otherwise!

No real tips though to help you, except to say losing weight post partum is the same as losing weight before having a baby. It's only harder because you've got so much else going on its hard to get the energy to make a healthy meal or do some exercise.
Don't stress about it too much. Just do what you can and as your child gets older it will get easier.

It doesn't make a difference whether you just had the baby or waited years to finally do it, it starts with moving more and eating at a deficit. Just start with one choice, one meal and one day at a time. Pretty soon you will meet your goal. It may take a year or more but you will get there.

Hello, I am new to using this app. Wanted to be realistic about food etc and not be too silly by crash dieting. I have a lovely 9 week old who I am feeding. I lost all my pregnancy weight in the first 2 weeks but have now gained half 8lb :-(!! I have about 50lb in total to lose to be healthy weight as had gained a lot before pregnancy! Add me and we can motivate each other x
