hey..so i'm pretty new to MFP..and i have a question..i have been keeping track of my food on here for the past 4 days and i noticed that everyday i go way over on protein..everything else has been just under the daily goal..my question is, is it ok to go over on protein..or will it effect my weight loss in a negative way??..right now i figure if i go over on one of them, protein seems to be the best one to do so..lol..thanks

protein is a minimum goal. Don't worry about it. You have to go way way way over consistently to have any negative affect. (Note, if all your protein is coming from, say, red meat, there may be other unhealthy side effects, but it's not related to the protein count.)

Note, you can also change your %s. Meaning if you are a low(er) carber you can down your carb % and up your protein % so your numbers would allow you fewer carbs and more protein than the default settings You do this in, I can't remember where, but somewhere in the settings.

PS, if you are trying to build muscle, protein is great for this. Weight lifters eat heavy on the protein.

As long as you don't have kidney issues and a max protein level from your doc, going over some each day should be fine. The levels calculated by MFP seem low in most cases anyway.
