Hi All,
I just downloaded the app to my new phone and am now logging on to the computer. I know I need to track my food. I've been down this road many, many times before...I'm in my 40s, mom to two young kids, married, work full-time and have lost as much as 85 lbs at one point . I have gained 70 lbs back in 3 1/2 years. I know that's shocking! I've been through hell and back...long story...but I know things aren't going to change too much as far as the craziness of my life so I need to figure out a way to lose weight despite the challenges. I have challenges with time, money, poor cooking skills (ha!), a not-so-perfect marriage, highly stressful and emotional job...and am also recovering from knee surgery. I don't want to make any more excuses. Not sure where to begin...I guess right here. It's overwhelming! But I have started to track my meals. Hope I can find support and offer support as well!

Welcome aboard! Did you lose the original 85 lbs. on a fad diet or too fast?
  • Today was my first time. Not my first time dieting... that has been my life since I was 16. I so understand where your coming from with your story. Only thing is I am not married, been there done that. My son is 16 and is my life. I also work a full time job, I run a Childcare Center in Dallas. So, I guess I do have more children like 135 LOL, not to mention the 20 teachers and over 100 parents I deal with. Anytime you want to chat I am here for you. Your way ahead of me you have been there and done that. I have never lost that much weight and kept it off longer then 6mos. Remine faithful in pray my friend and God will lead us both where we need to be:smile: Good night

    Hi Everybody,
I can relate. I am approaching my 40s and I too have 2 young children. I struggle daily to balance nutrition and deal with the demands of a a full-time job. It is easier to fry or bake or eat fast food and I want to change that. I am the mother of a special needs child, a gifted child, a teacher, a wife, a daughter of a disabled parent, a sister, a niece, and a cousin times 10....maybe more! It takes a lot to be me! I want to focus on me for just a minute.....just long enough to make me better....I am going to do this! I pray that with time...it comes to me!:flowerforyou:

Wow, it's so refreshing to find so many people in a similar situation. When I lost the 85 lbs, I was doing Weight Watchers...attending meetings, cooking, and running regularly. I had the gift of time as I was at home with my two children (I returned to full-time work in 2007). Not that it wasn't stressful and busy--I just could involve my kids in my exercise (double stroller) and could shop for groceries during the day, etc. Before that, I had lost 50 lbs (many years ago) on Optifast and of course gained it all back. Tried Jenny Craig, South Beach...you name it. I'm in a completely different place now than where I was in 2005-06 when I lost the 85...things have changed drastically. I don't cook much or well so I resort to fast food or frozen convenience food. I am so sick of Lean Cuisine! My kids have a limited palate..mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, spaghetti and fruit pretty much covers it (vegetables on a good day--it's a constant battle but I'm a horrible role model).

Sunflower, I have 60 other kids as I teach 6th grade! My job is highly stressful and often overwhelming...I put in long hours and worry about my students constantly.
