I started doing the 30 day shred DVDs and am experiencing knee pain. What other low impact activity can I perform instead of doing the jumping jacks? I'm even using a knee brace and still feeling pain.

I hurt my knee 7 days into doing level 1 doing jumping jacks. My foot landed weird and I pulled something on the outside of my left knee. I've just been running in place and using a lot of arm movement instead of jumping jacks.

A modification for a jumping jack is where you keep your arms doing what you would normally do for a jumping jack and step out to the side on alternate legs. So...

Arms up, step out with your right leg,
Arms down, bring your feet together,
Arms up, step out with your left leg,
Arms down, bring your feet together.

As Jillian says, "do what you can! No shame!!"

Also - this is a low impact circuit training video .....Chris Freytag is great! You can watch & get ideas too.

See for me I couldn't do the modification for a jumping jack because it doesn't get my heart rate up enough for me to feel like I did anything. I figured it was more important to keep my heart rate going than to do something similar to a jumping jack. But that's just me! You do what you can do, especially if you are injured.
