I have googled and searched but I cannot find any explanation as to why store bought such as marks or tescos or boots sandwiches even those deemed healthy are much more calories than a home made sandwich even when it is just plain chicken no mayo

Why is this? Anyone?

More than likely it is just the product they are using. The type of bread, what they cook or bake their chicken in, they type of mayo they use etc. Most likely I will go with the type of bread though :) Supermarkets tend to use big fluffy buns/break to appeal to customers. The bigger the bread the more calories etc.

It's in the processing. They hide a lot of sugars, fats, and other high calorie stuff in there to make those things taste good and keep you coming back for more. It is always more healthful and low calorie to cook at home. :)
