I just started Les Mills Combat on Tuesday morning, I didnt quite stick with the prescribed schedule as I am just generally impatient and had already read that it is harder to get a great burn with this workout.

First day I did Combat 30 and HITT Power back to back then the following day I did Combat 45 and HIIT Plyo back to back..... My calorie burn was not as great as what I get from Insanity but my oh my my body is a walking mess today because I am sooooo sore,

Is anyone else doing this programe - what are your thoughts

I like Insanity and Les Mills Combat. I don't focus so much on calories burned. I just do whatever I enjoy and will stick to.

It sounds like you're taking on a bit much rather quickly. I would space things out and rest more. HIIT workouts are typically not supposed to be done on back to back days. They are supposedly more effective if you don't. Although the Combat HIIT workouts aren't like a true cardio HIIT workout, so maybe that's not true for them, but the Combat HIIT workouts are difficult. I find most of the Combat workouts to be fairly easy, but their HIIT workouts are tough.

Try BCAA's and/or glutamine for the soreness. Make sure you're stretching, warming up, and cooling down

When combined with proper nutrition, those programs work. I would stick to the schedule. If you start doing double workouts and you are on a big calorie deficit, you are more likely to injure yourself. I don't want to see you get set back. Insanity will most likely give you a bigger calorie burn because it is more focused on your legs and is faster with bigger movements.
