I need some help logging calories and nutritional information when I go out to eat at non-chain restaurants that are not found in the database. Any suggestions?

I have the same question.
What I do - I usually sort of approximately check what I eat and I input 700-800 kcal just to be on the safe side.
Hope there is a better way!0 -
First of all I would say go for foods that are familiar, and also foods that are as "clean" as possible so that you can make out the ingredients. Then I would just estimate. I don't think there is much else to do, and if it isn't a frequent occurrence I don't think it would hurt you in the long run.0

I search the data base for something similar, for example I got a turkey club sub from a local pizza place the other night..I searched turkey club sub and found a few resteraunt calorie counts and just went with the highest one to be safe..Not an exact science but the only solution I could think of.0
