I am relatively new on here and looking for more people to friend on here for support!! I have a few friends online, but they seem to be no longer "active" on here! I am 24 and moved to new city about 2-1/2 years ago for a new job. As someone who waitressed throughout high school & college and then some, going to a desk job took a major toll on my body that I never anticipated. I went from being active to sitting at a desk all day!! I am here to regain my control and lose the weight I've gained. I have a boyfriend who never gains a pound, despite his bad eating habits
Although lately he has been on board with me more than ever before! Just looking for that extra support- I am ready to take back control of my own body
I'm tired of being depressed, feeling unattractive and overall annoyed!!! I'm ready to go!!

That was a big eye opener for me getting out of college. Although I was eating like a college kid, I was also very active - working out, walking all over campus, and staying up late. Then my eating habits didn't change but all of a sudden I was sitting still for 8+ hours a day, and having very little energy for exercise afterwards. I gained 20 lbs in the first year and a half. That was my motivation to train for my first marathon.... in 10 months of training for that I burned it all back off. But I was still 24 at that point... eventually metabolism and the demands of having a job makes it hard to keep eating that way, I needed to make more of a lifestyle change rather than just exercising enough to overcome the calories. Good luck, you'll be able to do it!0

Hi and welcome to MFP! I know where you are coming from because I went through the same thing. I worked on unloading trucks 8 to 10 hours a day for a major retail company for several years then got a desk job and hello here comes the pounds. Now I've changed desk jobs again this year that now includes travel and even more sitting. But I have managed it better and I am losing weight and feeling good.
Feel free to add me.0 -
Good for you for recognizing how your lifestyle change (job change) is affecting you and for doing something about it. Going from an active job and walking around campus a lot to sitting 8+ hours a day makes a huge impact on you. I wish I could go back and tell my 21 year old self to pay attention to that!0
