so any suggestions on how to manage Christmas do's? Invariably are a meal out and sometimes more than 1
- should you:
Eat nothing while out and fix your own meal,
Not go,
Eat the meal (always a set 2 or 3 course affair) and not focus on the blip,
Reduce days intake around that one to compensate,

Personally I'm making sure its only 1 this year and going to eat the meal but attempt to be sensible with choices! It's a dilemma that will probably bug me but at least not being much of a drinker, I don't have alcohol calories to worry about as well.

Any ideas or thoughts from left field appreciated.

My solution: have a good, hard workout, and then enjoy yourself afterwards!

If you can get a walk or something in as exercise go for it. If not what I did at thanksgiving (went to a big dinner) was to load up on salad and any other veggies available. Then just took small portions of everything else. Then I just didn't worry about it. It's one day and if you go over its not going to hurt anything. Try to relax and enjoy the holiday season with family and friends!

I went for a big meal today, so off to the gym to do an hour of exercise to make up for it. I don't usually go to the gym on a Sunday night, but feel I have to tonight as tomorrow's my weigh day :)
Just try to pick the healthiest choices for each course.

My vote is go! You did not mention what type of selection there is. I would stick with a nice salad, avoid desert and with a main course go for broiled or baked lean meats. Fish if they have it. Stay away or limit the breads. Remember to drink plenty of water.

Options 3 and 4. Eat healthy the day of the party at your other meals, get a good workout in, go to the party and enjoy sensibly what there is and if necessary, scale back a little the next day. At the party, try and fill up on the healthier options (salads, veggies) and you don't have to join the clean plate club. I also now decide if something is "calorie worthy". If you taste it and it's just "O.K.", don't finish it. Save your calories for those things that are wonderful!

This is a lifestyle change and you want to be able to enjoy your life.
