A Mom on a Mission, a Dress Form Disaster!!!

I'm officially a mom on a mission! I have always known I needed to lose weight I though that I wanted to lose weight, but I didn't want it as much as I wanted to be lazy and eat cake. I never really held myself accountable. I came to a revelation last week when I realized I do need to lose weight and I can lose weight without sacrificing things I love. I honestly think no matter what you do no matter how much you want to lose weight its never going to happen until in your mind you realize that its not about losing weight its about being healthier. It's easy to say that you know you need to be healthier, it's easy to say you want to get to a goal, but until your MIND starts to say we HAVE to do this and we can, you will keep the same cycle of losing some weight and then bouncing back to the old you. I am 100% sure I am now on the right track, eating healthy and getting as many minutes of exercise as possible for a working mom of 3 has become TOP priority! I hate my body and I hate the way I feel but, with each mile I feel better about myself I feel as if I am really working towards something I can achieve. What made my mind click? I made a to scale dress form of my body with duck tape so that I could make a few items of clothing I have been wanting to create. I took one look at that model and almost burst into tears... THIS IS NOT ME... It can't be! I took measurements and everything matched up! to look at yourself like that OMG I am horrified! I AM FAT! and OMG I have to change this and NOW! So there it began, its easy to say you take bad pictures and that certain angles make you look bigger than you actually are but when you have a 3D model of what your body actually looks like it OPENS YOUR EYES or at least it opened mine! I have this form hanging in my bathroom on an extra hook and yes it makes me sad every time i see it but it also makes me more determined to change what I have become! I truly want to change my plan is to make a mold of myself every 6 months and hopefully by the 3 mold I will feel more comfortable, but we will see... its time for a change! I am on a Mission! Feel free to add me and I will try to help motivate whenever possible, and let you know my ups and downs! Has anyone else tried making a dress form? Did it open your eyes? or have you had something else that shocked you into needing to change?

I also sew and the duct tape dress form is such a slap in the face. It's hard to deny or excuse it, so I completely understand. It's tough but you can do it. I also had a duct tape dress form I made years ago that looks much better than my current one, and that is I am aspiring to. It really puts it in perspective. It's not going to be an easy journey but now that you have a 3d model "before", imagine the satisfaction of seeing the 3d model "after". Feel free to add0
