How often do you weigh?

I so wish I only got on the scale once a week, but it's so hard NOT to....
I know I shouldn't.....it really makes no sense since our weight fluctuates so much.....and it's not like I'm gonna lose 4 pounds overnight, lol

So, if you weigh only once a week,or less, how do you keep yourself off the scale in between????

I put mine in the bathroom cupboard. Outta sight...outta mind. I haul it out on Sunday morning and back in it goes.

I weigh myself everyday...I'm kinda obsessed with it. haha but I only log it once a week on my weight in day. I keep in mind that your weight changes daily but I like keeping track of the trends in my weight loss.

I weigh most mornings, but only log changes once a week. I think if you don't obsess over the daily fluctuations and beat yourself up over them there is no harm in weiging daily. If you really want to only weigh weekly - try get someone to hide the scale from you and only pull it out once a week. If it isn't there you can't weigh in
  • Lots of willpower! I only weigh once a week too and I tell myself I will have a bigger number if I only do it once a week!

I have like an obsession with weighing myself, so I can't really help you with this one. I ALWAYS weigh myself, like 2-4 time a day.
  • I know what I do isn't right but I jump on the scale every morning. My scale sits on the bathroom floor and it's just so hard to walk past it and not jump on it.
  • Not much help here... I just don't do it. I have shocking will-power when it comes to certain things... and none at all when it comes to other things (like chocolate...lol.)

I try to make sure that the circumstances under which i weigh in are as identical each week as possible. Meaning I weigh in at roughly the same time every week, before I eat anything. No food the night before after 8pm, if possible, and there are certain foods I don't eat the night before I weigh in because they seem to stay in your body longer than others. I got these habits from former Diet Dude and they have just sort of stuck. After about 10 months they just became a habit and the only thing I changed after quitting Diet Dude is the day that I do it.
  • I gave my scale to my husband. He hides it from me to till Monday, gives it to me long enough to weigh, then takes it back. Otherwise, I was weighing all the time, and I had a tendency to get too depressed if I didn't lose every single day, which isn't really possible.
  • Me too!
  • Hmmm....sounds like I'll have to get my hubby to put it in his truck, along with all the food I don't want in the house, lol
I tend to weigh every morning, and it's really disappointing when you see a gain....ugh.....

OK, so that's the plan, hide the scale at home....now I'll just have to have will power and not weigh daily at the gym....sigh....
I think I'll make Monday's my weigh in day....that might help too....

I used to weigh myself every day, and then the summer happened :) I think I gained about 5-7 pounds (I don't know, b/c I didn't exactly find out). All of my "teacher clothes" were tighter when I went back to school this year. I refused to weigh myself until they fit better. What I have been doing is weighing myself at the gym with clothes on in the afternoon. I know this is heavier than my body weight. That way I could gauge how my weight was doing and decide when I would weight myself again.

If my weight went up one morning, I would have a bad eating day b/c I would sabotage myself. I would think to myself "Well, I'm never going to lose this weight so why bother?" Mentally, it was very bad for me to weigh every day. Now I'm trying to do the naked, in the morning weigh in maybe once a week. I obsess less and make better choices. We put the scale in the closet and have to get it out in order to weigh in.

    Hope this helps!

I generally weigh myself everyday, but record only once or rarely twice a week. When I tried to lose in the past(years ago) and only weighed once a week, if I didn't lose anything I'd feel like I had failed my entire week and give up the diet feeling hopeless. I've learned that if I do it daily, I don't expect weightloss daily and can accept the small up and down numbers because it is the constant reminder of why I'm eating healthy and changing my life style. I feel like it makes me feel more accountable to myself, and since I use a digital scale I celebrate a little every time I see the number go down even by .2 or .4

Daily, but I am un-fazed but the variations. I use it as a general idea of my progress.

i weigh myself multiple times a day. i am trying to get a feel for how my weight fluctuates normally thoughout the day.
suprisingly i find that i weigh least in the morning (okay that part was not suprising) but also least after i take a shower!! i wonder why. i weigh the most in the middle of the day and before i go to bed.

must be the scientist in me, hahaha.

i generally weigh myself every week BUT lately my partner suggested i start weighing in daily and taking not of what i do differently and if it causes weight loss or not etc but...after apparently gaining 1lb in 24hours by just sticking to my 1200 allotted cals i'm feeling very down about it and wish i hadn't weighed myself so often!
