Saw this today and thought I would ask it. Excuses are well planned lies. How many of you have let excuses hinder your success? Whether it be physically, spiritually, financially, anyone done it and why?

Yes, of course. I think 99 % of us here have.
A lot of excuses were "physical," (too tired, allergies, stomach problems, etc) but turned out to be mental (my stomach problems are better than they have been since I was 12, since I started regularly working out).
Luckily, financial excuses have never been my biggest hindrance (the time I went through when I was a BROKE student was a time I lost a lot of weight, as I walked EVERYWHERE and couldn't eat take out).
I feel like SO much of it is mental. I still struggle with the mental moreso than anything else. That's why I'm here- it works. The support works. The satisfaction of "x has completed their diary and is under their calories" works.

yes. i think excuses are a coping mechanism. it's hard to admit that you have lost control or have utterly failed at something because you are not good enough, or talented enough, or whatever. so you make an excuse to lessen the pain.

that said, i think there can be legitimate reasons that something doesn't happen. those could also be "excuses."
