pea to help with training.Bad idea??

i've been taking 600 mg of pea (phenylethylamine) twice aday.A girl introduced me to it who i train with.i've been taking it to help with training as its been pretty intensive at the moment.i've been really careful all my life in the sense that i have never done drugs and i don't intend to.i'm confused as to whether this is safe.it is legal and it does help although there are side effects to it.just wondering if anyone knows how effective this is with fitness and whether it is worth the risk.i don't want to ruin my health.if anyone has some knowledge on this i would be very grateful.

Why would you take anything before knowing whether it's "safe" or not? Perhaps checking with a physician might be a good idea. It can be habit forming for some - Google it!!

Appears that elevated levels of this have been linked to schizophrenia, in addition it caused liver damage and parkinsons-like symptoms in mice: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phenethylamine

    Probably NOT a good idea.
