Does tea count as water?

I drink pretty watery iced tea, unsweetened. Does that count?
Or does it have to be straight water?

All fluid drinks are considered water. Keep in mind though that some beverages like coffee act as diuretics and will flush more fluids than water. Caffeine can do it too

Yes!! Especially if its diluted and unsweetened! It's full of antioxidents!!

I would only count it as water if its unsweetened and caffeinated... refer above mentioned comment re: Diuretic... :drinker: for every diuretic drink i make sure i drink 2 more glasses of water....

I wouldn't consider anything else as "water" except maybe carbonated water but if it has cals make sure to log it in the diary as well... :flowerforyou:

Also remember your body doesnt burn calories from liquids as easily as from foods.... :smooched:

It used to be thought that caffeine is a diuretic, but it turns out it's not. It's true you will pee more in the next two hours, but you won't pee more in a 24 hour period. It's more like an on switch for your bladder. It makes whatever is in there come out, but it doesn't put more in there.

I wouldn't wash my laundry in tea, but I'd never put laundry detergent in my glass, either.
