Happy 4th, everyone. As we all take this day to celebrate the formation of our country, we can use it to reflect on what independence means to us, and how to be free to be our true, glorious selves. I am hereby declaring my independence from slavery to food addiction, and my freedom from being too tired and sore and crabby to embrace all of this beautiful life. Happy 4th, everyone! We, as overeaters, used to define freedom as those holidays when we could eat whatever we wanted with less guilt over our bodies and health. That's so limiting, and we were made for more. Today, let's define freedom and the freedom to move our bodies, love our family and friends, to laugh and be joyful, and to eat a modest amount of nutritious but fun food. Go, us!
