lifting and no aches?

I see a PT 3 times per week and we have just started to incorporate some heavy lifts on the upper body.
I was using the machines and did chest press, lat pull down, and various other machines relating to arms and shoulders. I know I lifted to my maximum cause 5 - 8 reps did not come easy but I have had no aches or anything in those areas at all.
Is this normal? This was Wednesday so it should have kicked in by now.

Getting DOMS (aches) doesn't mean you didn't get a good workout and it isn't a measure of a workout either. I've been lifting for 9 weeks and only get DOMS on rare occasions.0

As long as you are progressing in the gym and towards whatever goals you have set yourself it doesn't matter if you are sore of not.
If you train muscles frequently You will find they get less sore, when I was squatting heavy 4x per week my legs were almost never sore.0 -
I go in phases of gettting DOMS and not. It doesn't seem to relate directly to progress.
Getting it quite a bit now, can really feel it in my legs and that ache sitting up from mid-rif area from which you can tell you've made an effort on the abs.
I do think I get it less if consistently exercising while on a deficit.
Unfortunately it's just my cold accentuating achy feelings because I haven't done anything in a while - the mid-rif is actually a busted rib healing.0 -
i dont really get DOMS that often, even today after i got through some 115# bench press I'm sure i wont hve DOMS tomorrow.
what i do sometimes get is a tiredness i dont know the name for. it's not DOMS but it happens once a week, usually the day after my second lift session of the week and usually on that day my muscles will feel so heavy that i know i need to take a complete rest day0
