    a) Modest calorie deficit - accurately weighing/measuring/logging all foods and getting 1gm/lb in protein.

    b) Either:
Progressive resistance routine(Starting Strength, Stronglifts 5x5, All Pro's SBR, You are your Own Gym, Convict Conditioning, etc),
HIIT (pick the routine of your choice)
Met-con (Weighted circuit work, barbell complexes, kettlebell complexes/ladders, etc)

    c)Time, consistency and hard work

Easiest way to put it. Burn fat gain muscle. All you need to do it burn the fat off your midsection by doing cardio 3 to 6 times a week and find a ab routine that works for you and do it 2 to 3 times a week. You will never see abs no matter how many crunches situps or routines you do if you dont burn the fat first.

Lose fat and then your abs will start to show.

    lol Thank you!

Cut calories and lift! I hate cardio, all I've ever really done is lift weights, no cardio and no isolated ab exercises and my belly is pretty flat. I got a pouch in the lower portion of my stomach from having kids that I don't believe will ever disappear but I even got some muscles on the upper part. So, that's it, what the others have said, cut and lift. Good luck :)
