Feeling terrified when invited to a BBQ/cook out!!! Help!!

Hi everyone!

I am invited to a BBQ/cook out at a friend's house. His mother is known to cook a lot and very good Italian food. I agreed to go but I have been so frustrated with this decision.

I really just want to say no now. The thing happens in couple hours.

My daily goal is 1200. I exercised this morning ( the cardio and abs workout - HIIT from Fitness Blender - youtube) and estimated to burned about 150 cal. The cal burned estimator on the screen said 250-something higher, but as I'm 5"2 and weigh 115. I figured I would reduce the estimated number a bit.
I consumed 872 cal already. I have about 300 left. ( I didn't count the burned calorie as that allows room to wiggle if my cal calculation is little off.)

I really don't know what to do and very afraid to go and get tempted and eat more than I am allowed.

Please help!!!!!!

Go, eat in moderation and enjoy yourself. You've only got about 10 lbs to lose (out of 13). One night won't make a difference, even if you go over by a few hundred calories. It all works out in the end.
You'll be fine and tomorrow all will be the same. Have fun tonight.

If you are really that afraid - decide before you go to have only one Tbspoon of everything that looks interesting to you. Don't eat just because it is there. Pick stuff you will really like and just have the spoonful taste. This probably will get you one normal size plate of food. You will not feel deprived as you have tasted everything you want. Just DO NOT go back for seconds. I am Italian too, so I know what you will be going through. Stay strong.

1200 is too low for about anyone, especially if you exercise... Go have fun.

Don't think of food as being bad or evil...not all the time anyway.
BBQ's are ok - eat in moderation. & if you must over indulge, personally i think its ok as long as you get back on track the next day. When you are there, don't eat for the sake of eating. Remember that it's 1 day of 7; the other 6 days work a lil harder and it will cancel itself out as long as you get back on track and not necessarily eat back all your exercise cals.
Try choosing lean cuts of the meat, and loads of salad...

The problem is not in the food nor in the quantities but in your head!
    A) eating at 1200 calories in most cases is not a healthy solution (unless you are a young, tiny person with limited activity levels)
    B) eating at 1200 calories will, in most cases, not make people lose weight faster.
    C) a "normal" meal will not make you fat overnight nor make you gain your weight back in a fraction of a second.

With so little to lose (if any) you shouldn't be eating 1200 calories.

And it's not a good sign to be terrified of a social gathering because there will be food. Just go and socialize, and eat reasonably. Life is going to happen. Cookouts and dinners and birthday parties are all going to be part of maintenance so go ahead and start practicing now.
