This just blew my mind. Watch what happens around 10 seconds in after the laxative falls from the sky and lands on the girl in bed. SHE GETS THINNER. She gets a lot thinner, like half her original size. Try watching it without the sound, the commercial has a whole different meaning when you do.

Honestly it's hard for me to tell based on the nightie/dress and the lighting and camera angle. I watched it a few times, and I'm still not sure you're correct.
If true, however, that would be some seriously sickening advertising.0 -
She totally does, that's f'ed up.0

I think it's just the shadows as she raises her arms. Watch it in full screen.0

I agree it is a trick of lighting, but things like this don't happen on accident.0

That is a good point.0 -
No offense intended, but isn't this spam? I mean, it's an add for a laxative.0

I think the point is that people with eating disorders will take handfuls of laxatives under the false impression it will make them thin. Any ad that could be construed as playing up to that is a very bad idea.0 -
Oh my goodness! That is just awful!
I'm really kind of scared what that is going to do for people looking for a magic weight loss bullet.0 -
She doesn't get thinner everywhere. Her abdomen does.
I think they're making the point that the bloated, full feeling that comes with constipation goes away when the...stuff...is eliminated, which is true. Anyone who is constipated should call the doctor, IMO.
You cannot get thinner taking laxatives and anyone who tries will be sorry they did.
I do not think their intention was to say you lose weight.0 -

I guess I didn't read as much into this commercial as others. I agree that maybe her bloated tummy went away but not sure about "thinner" as it happens so quick. But their advertisement works as we are discussing it.0
