Anybody find anything decent at a restaurant

My mom, dad, and brother are off today and we are supposed to be going out to eat at a restaurant. We haven't decided where yet. Does anybody know of any restaurants/meals they have at certain ones that are not that bad? I do not like steak or fish which makes searching for something "better" than others hard. Thanks!

Applebee's has a good "Healthy Menu".. which would include things such as salads, chicken etc.
Also I love going to Ruby Tuesday's because they have the salad bar, which can be added to soup or sandwich to make a meal.
I'm sure no matter where you go, they have healthy options, and if you don't see it on the menu don't be afraid to ask! A lot of times they will accomadate a healthy eater!0 -
chilis probably has a low cal or light menu selection as well0

All I found at restaurants is my big butt
Really - get the chicken and ask for it not to be cooked in butter. Also, see if they have steamed veggies. Or, look at the sandwich menu and see if there is a lean meat option and leave off the mayo and cheese and if there's a whole wheat bread get that (also, side that with fruit or steamed veggies).0 -
Hard to tell because different restaurants exist in different parts of the country. If you have an idea of where you might be going, check to see if they have a website. A lot of them do now, and they often have the menu/nutrition info listed which I am finding more and more useful every day. Good luck, and don't forget to enjoy yourself!:drinker:0

Anywhere you go you can find something decent on the menu or make substitutions/special requests. Ask for grilled chicken & steamed veggies... or grilled chicken over a bed of spinach & dressing on the side or use salsa as the dressing. Some nice avocado on that salad will add some good healthy fat too.0

I've found good things at Chilis, Old Chicago, Olive Garden (any Italian place will have a chicken/veggies or fish/veggies option, or should), and Aplebees. Mexican food places can be healthy if you get like black beans and a lean meat, or fajitas cooked without butter with extra veggies and none of the bad sides like sour cream or flour tortillas. I tend to stay away from entree salads at resturaunts, they can often have as many or MORE clories than a regular entree! So sad.0
