I have been working out everyday for two hours on the arc cybex and walking 6 miles in two hours. I eat around 900-999 calories a day. I weighed myself yesterday and I weighed 200 pounds. I started this exercise program last week, although I don't know how much I weighed when I started I feel like I lost weigh because all of my clothes are starting to get bigger on me. If I continue this program how long would I take to lose 40 pounds?

I'm going to reach into the ether and guess your height, weight, daily activity level and prophesize that it will take you 20 weeks. Instead of thinking of how long it will take, think of whether this is something that is sustainable for the rest of your life and not a quick fix.0

My best guess is eating that little and with your current activity .. I give you another week before you quit or decide to do this in a sustainable way.
Here's some information take the time to read it, and then stop worrying about how long it takes, and just get busy working towards your goals. :flowerforyou:
Here's some information that might help
Log your food accurately and honestly. Go for 80% good choices the other 20% don't worry so much about. I eat lots of delicious food and have consistently lost. Keep it simple find a REASONABLE deficit:
If you have 75+ lbs to lose 2 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 40-75 lbs to lose 1.5 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 25-40 lbs to lose 1 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 15 -25 lbs to lose 0.5 to 1.0 lbs/week is ideal
If you have less than 15 lbs to lose 0.5 lbs/week is ideal

Find an activity you enjoy doing - I found I love to ride my bike and lift heavy stuff

My height is 5 foot 5, my weight is 200 pounds and my activity level is pretty high (I walk a lot). I'm concerned about maintaining the activity level when I go back to work. I don't work during the summer because I work in a school and school is closed. When school starts again I'm wondering how I'm going to fit in all those hours of exercise.0

Here is a good link. While I am not here to rain on your parade, I do not believe your method is safe or will be effective long term. Eating very low calorie is not good in the long term and I encourage you to eat more. Good luck :flowerforyou:

I don't think this is going to work out for you. Unless you are like 4 feet tall, I don't think it's healthy to only eat 900 calories per day. You might start having some health issues after a while.0

This is why I need to learn how to use gifs..
Honestly. Dont waste your time on this type of diet. Its not a sustainable long term plan, you may lose weight quick but you are likely to A) lose a lot of muscle mass in the process andfall off the wagon and binge due to miserably low calorie allowance.
I weigh 206lbs and eat 2000+ a day to lose weight (thats NET calories by the way, I eat back what I burn off). Dont underfuel your body. If you treat it badly it will show.0 -

You are working out way too much and not eating enough calories so if you continue, you'll become malnourished. At 200 lbs, you cannot get the nutrients your body needs eating 900-999 calories a day. What you are doing is not healthy or sustainable.0 -

Just to give you an example I'm 5'6 171 pounds now, and I eat 1600-2000 calories a day and lose weight. I don't do hours and hours of exercise every day. Please read the links0 -
Well, it's not a program, it's something you're putting your body through for no partilcular reason.
You don't need to eat so little to lose weight and you don't need to exercise so much to lose weight.
If you continue doing this you will feel exhausted, extremely hungry and miserable....no matter how much you kid yourself you're not hungry.0 -
^^ what everyone above said
Hi - There is some really good advice from the above posters. I understand that this may be a "tough pill" to swallow, but it is important to eat an appropriate level.
Like many have said before:
Look up BMR and TDEE
Here is an awesome resouce:

Have a read of this:
http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/fat-loss/why-big-caloric-deficits-and-lots-of-activity-can-hurt-fat-loss.html
Summary for those with a short attention span:
"The simple facts for the majority of folks is this: you can either cut calories hard OR do large amounts of activity. But you can’t do both. Well you can do both, you just probably shouldn’t under most circumstances."0 -
You'll feel good and capable of sticking with it if you eat more.
If you keep up your current plan you'll probably feel miserable, think about food all the time, and really want to quit.
Read the links and I think you'll be really encouraged about what you find. You can lose weight while still feeling good and having a balanced lifestyle. Good luck to you!0
