Hello out there. I am a hard working mother of one (for those women out there with 2+ really give you props) who has some issues with emotional eating and sticking to a healthy lifestyle plan. I was very athletic in my teens but put some weight on in college, lost it, had my daughter eight years ago and just never took the weight off... and then added some.
I have started and stopped, a few years ago I took off about 25lbs and felt great... but this last year put most of it back on. I need to loose about 45 lbs and this time want to take it off permanently. I am lucky in that I like to workout and I know what I need to do. I get stressed and use food as a comfort, numbing thing... My husband and I have been separated for the last four years but we love our daughter and continue to spend time together as a family...Which I am thankful for as my daughter has a good relationship with her father, better than the one I had with my father who lived under the same roof. I want to be a good example for my daughter and also feel good about me... mostly I want to do this for me.
I know in the next year we will finally make our separation official and finalize our divorce. I really want to be in a good place physically and mentally when this happens. Looking for some buddies to share in the journey

good luck to you. I think making foods off limits instead of learning portion control sets people up for binges. Say you think Ice cream is bad and you eat some then you feel like a failure You screwed up they day so you eat as much ice cream as you can and start over the next day. What if Ice cream was not off limits and you only had a portion? What if you ate more than a portion but realized this is life and did not let it lead to a binge?
Listen you your body, learn how to tell when it is full. Eat slow and on small plates. Irs ok to eat a cookie just not 20 of them. Stopping when you are full and portion control is a great help.
Best of luck to you!0 -
