Hello My Friend!

JayTalk Promo Code In America, every November, we celebrate a holiday called Thanksgiving. According to what I was taught in school, Thanksgiving was first celebrated in 1621 when 50 English settlers fasted and feasted with about 90 regional Wampanoag Indians for three days. No one knows for sure, but more than likely the 140 hungry humans feasted on traditional foods such as venison (deer) and maize (Indian corn) provided by the Wampanoag tribe. For dessert, they may have offered dried berries from the summer and fall pickings, which is a far cry from what we now serve at Thanksgiving.

It is sad, but in my opinion, Thanksgiving has become an all-you-can-hold-down no-holds-barred food fest that usually causes half of us to waddle from the table, fall onto the nearest couch and become comatose for the next three hours as we try to sleep off our culinary sins. Why do we do that year after year? What is the purpose of premeditated bingeing? Is Thanksgiving a day where we give ourselves a license to gorge? Perhaps we should change this holiday’s name to Thanksgorging Day. It is one thing to overeat on wholesome foods. It is another thing to overeat on preservative-laced, sugar-laden, artificially flavored, and artificially colored foods, which may be what you are unconsciously consuming every Thanksgiving. But I have good news! With just a few simple changes (I offer 5 tips below), you can make EVERY Thanksgiving a truly healthy adventure for you and your family. And our health is something we should be thankful for and never take for granted.

TIP #1: BUY ORGANIC TO AVOID THE CHEMICAL POISONING

If you are serving a traditional Thanksgiving meal that includes turkey, purchase an organically raised bird from a reputable organic farm. Unless you purchased an organically raised turkey, there is a good chance that big bird was abused from birth and artificially bred and fed to become fat and plump for you in record time. Buying an organic turkey will make a statement that you do not support factory farming methods. And, serving only organic foods on Thanksgiving allows you to sidestep all the chemical pesticides, herbicides, and chemical fertilizers that are used on conventionally grown foods that can poison you one bite at a time. If you are vegetarian, you can skip the turkey (which will make that turkey happy), instead focusing on the rest of the meal. Some stores even offer meatless alternatives to turkey such as Tofurkey (a tasty tofu recipe) to help round out your organic Thanksgiving meal.

TIP #2: EAT ONLY ONE MEAL ON THANKSGIVING TO LOSE WEIGHT
INSTEAD OF GAIN WEIGHT

It is nearly impossible to overeat if you only consume one meal a day. So this Thanksgiving, try eating only your main meal and that is it. You can include dessert with this meal and eat to your heart’s desire without guilt. But once you push back from the table; that’s it. No snacking, nibbling, or taste testing. By eating only one meal on Thanksgiving, you just may be surprised that you have dropped a pound or two when you step on the scales the next day.

TIP #3: STAY HYDRATED TO KEEP YOUR ENERGY LEVELS HIGH AND
YOUR BODY INTERNALLY CLEAN

Most traditional Thanksgiving meals are loaded, and I mean LOADED, with salt. The excessive intake of salt can make you dehydrated because salt must be suspended in water, which in turn can make you bloated due to water retention. Drink freely on Thanksgiving of water, sparkling water, and herb teas to keep your body happy, healthy, and hydrated.

TIP #4: MAKE YOUR MEAL REAL TO AVOID ARTIFICIAL INGREDIENTS
THUS KEEPING YOUR FAMILY HEALTHY

To make Thanksgiving easier for the cook, many companies offer premade foods that can be purchased instead of making those same foods fresh in your own kitchen. Unfortunately, prepackaged foods are often laced with artificial colors, artificial flavors, artificial sweeteners, excessive amounts of sodium, sugar, corn syrup, high-fructose corn syrup, and preservatives. This year, do yourself and your family a favor and make the meal with real ingredients whipped up in your own kitchen.

TIP #5: BE STILL, BE THANKFUL TO AVOID ANXIETY AND
MENTAL FRUSTRATION AND OVERLOAD

On Thanksgiving, meditate for at least 15 minutes by sitting quietly somewhere alone (or sit with your family). This quiet 15 minutes will calm the thoughts and help you be peaceful throughout the entire day, no matter how hectic things can get. And during the day, focus on what is at hand and get lost in the experience of this very special holiday.

May the THANKS be with you,

This is something I do during the holidays & decided to pass it on.
Check out everything that is available for the holiday meal (that is good for you) & use a salad plate to eat off of. Once you can't see the bottom of the plate, walk away from the serving table & do NOT go back.

personally i think this tip is totally BS. you are WAY more likely to overeat if you only eat one meal, especially because on Thanksgiving, the meal is usually near the end of the day, and you are most definitely starving by that point. Eating normal meals/snacks throughout the day will help you to not overeat at dinner.

Wish me luck as they have never met my mother! She will not take no for an answer and she is personally offrended if I don't eat lots! I will start the day with along hike and hopefully will be able to off set some of the over indulgence.
