So in my quest to get fit I've started walking more - I wasn't walking at all previously, just to the train station and back for five minutes a pop. I have been walking to and from work, a walk of 10/15 minutes, and a 40 minute walk at lunchtime most days. Unfortunately, even though I've been doing this in trainers with custom orthotics and not at crazy paces (most of the time!) I seem to have developed a shin splint (below my knees, aching pain, no visible bruise) which is now impacting on my cycling and swimming. Anyone got any tips for dealing with this? I want to keep walking but obviously not to aggravate this...
