Hey all,

Just wanted to get involved in the boards, so thought I'd introduce myself. Been mostly using myFitnessPal on my iPad- didn't realize there were forums if you got online.

I've been on a fitness journey since about 2004 or so. I've also battled an eating disorder over the years, which after about two years in therapy... let's just say I'm in a better place now mentally, so that's good!

Weight was always hard for me growing up. Many in my family are overweight, and no one eats healthy- so I didn't get the best of starts or the best role models in learning to eat healthy and exercise- but that was growing up- this is now.

I've been an avid fitness and nutrition-interested person for a good 6 years or so, since 2004 when I first learned more about taking better care of myself. I feel like I'm a pretty tough cookie in terms of strength, but I have a killer sweet tooth and tend to eat a bit more than I should, so I'm just here on myFitnessPal trying to set things right. One of my challenges is to make calorie watching (I don't like the word "counting") a normal, non-stressful, non-judgmental healthy lifestyle activity for myself- instead of a "quick fix" which I've done in the past.

I'm working on losing a bit of bodyfat, but working really hard to not lose a lot of muscle in the process- guess you could say I'm re-comping, or maybe even "cutting." I've been on a bulk for a couple of months now, so now it's time to cut the bodyfat- which imo, is too high.

I like to lift heavy and be strong. I like a challenge. I also like to work on my strength for my pole dancing- which is one of my favorite fitness-related activities. I'd also love to compete in a bodybuilding or fitness competition someday... but right now that's quite a ways off into the future.

Anyways, glad to be here and love seeing everyone's posts and progress and whatnot!

Cheers!
