Headache due to lack of breathing

I went swimming in the lake over the weekend and got severe headache afterwards. I remember I wasn't able to breathe frequently during swimming, because the waves were getting over my head a lot. I also remember while lifting weights doing sit-ups, once I got really bad headache and my trainer said that's why I tell you to keep breathing. Anyone else get headache due to lack of breathing during swimming or weight lifting?
I looked up online and many forums are talking about dehydration as a cause of headache. But I really think its the lack of oxygen and muscle tension. I know it goes away after a while automatically. Is there anything that can be done to recover from the headache faster? I know only doctors can give the true medical advice, but I want to know other people's experience and opinions.

one time I was swimming in the Atlantic ocean and the waves were pretty rough, they were kicking my butt! I came up out of one set, wiped my eyes, and everything was RED!!! Freaked me out for a minute until I saw normal again.

Amazing.
OP, I find that sometimes I get a headache in the form of like, almost a pounding feeling on the right side of my head while I'm doing cardio. It only happens when I'm getting out of breath or if I haven't been breathing properly. So far as I know it's nothing to be concerned about but I do always recommend seeing a doctor if it becomes worrisome.
For me, I just take it easy and drink lots of water. It generally goes away in about 15 minutes or so for me.0 -
