Baking soda and beetroot juice for better endurance?

I have recently taking a liking to long incline walks (long compared to my previous activity level is anything over 30 minutes). I just zone out and and enjoy the "me time". The problem is more often than not, since I walk a high incline, I cannot last as long as I would like.
I've seen some research about improved aerobic performance with nitrates (beetroot juice) and Sodium Bicarbonate (baking soda) for better endurance.
I'm just wondering if they would help me prolong my walks a little, or is my activity not intense enough to reap the benefits?
