Okay - SO my daily calorie in take is 850, but so far I'm confused. My cal intake used to be 1200, but is now 850 and I'm doing pretty well to stick to it.
However, I'm wondering what I should be doing in terms of exercise, eating, and exercise and eating combined.
For instance I've eaten 600 cals wroth of food so I'm left with 250 for the day, and I burn off 300 from running - hence 550 for the day...should I be trying to reach my calorie limit i.e. 850? and leave 300
Or should I leave it?
OR am I supposed to be burning as many calories as I eat in a day - is that how it works? I'm sorry if I sound like an idiot, but I hear some people saying they're burning off everything they eat in the same day - which I haven't been.
And also, if you don't mind sharing what sort of average is your calorie intake at - cos I think mine's pretty high.

Nutrition-wise, as a female, you should not be below 1200 cals a day - with or without exercise calories (net). You should not burn everything you put in or the body goes into starvation mode and holds onto everything - including fat - or worse - it will start eating muscle. Think of food as fuel. In order to run properly, you need 1200 cals a day. If you eat some of your exercise calories - it's good. I don't eat all of mine - but I do eat some - just depends on how hungry I am that particular day.
The only way that your goals page would have dropped below 1200 is by manually doing so. I would not recommend it. You may lose slower but it should stay off. Better than gaining it all back soon after losing.0 -
Did your doctor put you at 850 cals a day? If not, you need to quit that because once you starting eating like a human again, you will just put all of your weight back on.0

I eat around 1400-1600 per day and I eat most if not all of my exercise calories. So on a day I am working out I eat around 2,000. When I was training for my half marathon probably even a bit more than that.
Less is not more. Your body needs its fuel.0 -
Agreed, Unless the Doctor prescribed this, it's really unhealthy to eat that amount of calories. 1,200 -1,500 w/ exercise is a much better low calorie diet:)0

Agreed with the above posters. I don't understand why you'd choose such a low calorie intake. Can you explain your rationale?0
