I don't know if this will help but first try to remember you are human and you live in a different time where other temptations are more available to you . I mean it was easy for our great great great grandparents because things were not so readily available you had to grow your own or hunt for your own food. I don't know what exactly you eat on this diet, but I think I am kind of close. So I guess what my real suggestion is, is alow your self liek a wagon stop station wher you can get off and have a small snack that is not a part of your diet. Do this as a once a month treat. Unless of course you have to stay on it all the time, then just remind yourself hey I like this I love the way I feel doing this more than eating other junk. Just keep thinking of your reward.

So best wishes to you and I hope to be of some help in the future my friend.

Why not just eat what you want instead of restricting yourself?

I eat similar although a Low carb High fat version. You can add me if you want.

I find it far less a restrictive diet than a restricted calorie counting diet. Hopefully you will to.

I'm also a low carber! It's worked for me also.

Everyone falls off the wagon now and again, it's all about picking yourself up, dusting yourself off and remembering that tomorrow is a brand new day!

I eat more Primally (which is pretty much Paleo with dairy -- so I use cream, butter, cheese). And I find it pretty darn easy to stick to. Once of the reasons I like Primal versus Paleo besides just the dairy is that it focuses on a 80/20 compliance. The vast majority of the time, I'm 95/5, but I like the ability to add in a little non-Paleo stuff from time to time without thinking that I'm falling off the wagon. And for me, for the times I do indulge in non-Paleo stuff, I tend to regret it and find it not as appealing (or really feel the negative effects -- like big time bloating after a piece of pizza). So, over time, a lot of the indulgences just don't appeal to me anymore -- it ended up being a problem that solved itself.

Also, I've found a shockingly good deal of substitutes -- not processed stuff sold in the store as substitutes, but just new recipes. It's how I was introduced to spaghetti squash, which I use for my pasta sauces and thai curries. It's awesome, and I like it way better than the original pasta and rice. Or I tried a cauliflower bacon soup recipe lately and was blown away. If you like cooking at all, there are some really good recipes out there -- and I only learned about them from being Primal. After all, when you're cooking with cream, butter, fresh produce, etc., things taste awesome. It's pretty similar to high end French cooking without the bread.

So, for me, I've found a lot of good substitutes for stuff that I was just eating because I was used to it, not because it was really the best option out there. I still do dark chocolate though, just go for the higher cocao content for all the antioxidants.
