FYI, I have been reading a blog by Dr. Peter Attia called The Eating Academy. His blog is what opened my eyes to the truth about carbs and sugar. Check it out at http://eatingacademy.com/.
I posted a link to one of his videos the other day ......

I was thinking about doing this too but I can't afford to eat that much meat. I don't make much money.0

I've been on it for about 5 months and lost about 44 pounds... My brother has been on it for over a year and lost about 150 pounds.0

I have been following a ketogenic diet for a few months since April (some significant cheating in there while adjusting to a new way of eating). I have lost 7lbs since April. I get a lot of inspiration for how I put together a daily eating routine from mariamindbody.com and the bulletproof diet web site. I have chronic health issues, and eating a high fat, grain-free diet really helps me live symptom free, and keep my weight in check. I have eaten a paleo diet for many years, but never consistently counted carbs until this past April, and I am really happy with the results from a weight perspective and health improvement perspective.0

I've been living the keto lifestyle since October. Dropped 86 lbs.
Thats amazing.. are you in maintenance yet.. how do you plan to maintain
I am in maintenance now. To be honest i don't look at it as a "diet". You'll noticed i used the word "lifestyle". I've completely changed the way I look at my meals and eating. I plan to maintain by keeping my macros the same and just boosting my calories a little. We will see how it goes.
I think when people use the word "diet" they already have a quick fix, negative view of it. Like, if i don't lose 10 lbs in the first week on this "diet" then they will give up on it.
After being in it for almost a year, I don't see menus at restaurants the same as everyone, I will go eat anywhere and know that i can make whatever they cook work for me.
Do I miss bread? HELL YES!. I seriously had a dream about making sweet love to a Hawaiin Roll, weird right? However, I get pretty much all the bacon i can handle. In the dream when the Hawaiin Roll left, she had to take the walk of shame in front of all my friends who were all slices of bacon. i really need to lay off the weed.
ETA: TMI? Maybe.0 -

I have a question what do you eat for breakfast? Or for snack?0

Is there a specific A ketogenic diet that everyone is fallowing? or amount of carbs that everyone is eating? I understand the concept of the diet but no idea how many carbs should I be limited too.
I am wondering this as well. I am doing low carb LOVE it however, my weight loss is stalled and I am wondering if I need to go lower. I do strength training 3 times a week and cardio 5 times. I average 25-30 net carbs a day. Mostly from veggies and average 1400 calories a day.0 -
I'm new. I started using Medifast foods for the main part of a ketogenic diet (and have a free Take Shape for Life coach). I started all this around July 17 and it's working so far. I'm very happy to find a sense of support & community here -- and of course information.0

No specific diet/meal plan for me, I just set my MFP ratios to 80% Fat : 15% Protein : 5% Carbs .... A 'bit' extreme, but I will change these ratios once I have get below 70Kgs.
My food diary is Open if you would like to see what I'm currently eating.0 -
I was on weight watchers and stalled for a while, after hearing about keto a lot recently and researching more into keto and finding the keto reddit my fiance and I decided to try it, the last 3 weeks have been amazing. I have done a low carb diet before with emphasize on protein intake but not fat, which is the key to the hunger and cravings being gone. I eat 2-3 meals sometimes a day 0-1 snack and 100oz of water or more and the pounds are rolling off.
Its amazing to wake up not hungry and since I love cooking, I love trying all the different keto recipes and just eating whole good foods that I always thought weren't good for me, I have never felt better. If you have a low loss week try re-calculating your macros and not just looking at the percentages but the actual numbers. I had that on my 3rd realized I was eating to much protein and needed to adjust my marcos for my new weight,do this every 5-10lbs.
feel free to add me0 -

I would not buy the snacks. You can eat cheese or beef jerky or make your own cuz its hard to find with low sugar. Macadamias are high in fat. But if you eat breakfast later and do a good fat intake you don't really need a snack cuz you can be set til dinner. Like I found sausage and also ground deer meat to be quite filling. The oils like olive oil, coconut oil, and avacados are sating. You dont really have to buy too much meat bc if you can get some from food banks if you are struggling and your portion makes it last longer as you fill up quick. Plus chew very well and you get full fsster too. Make olive oil mustard and apple cider vinegar and cayenne pepper for salsd dressing eat tomato and avacado salad which is filling with the olive oil dressing. Put coconut oil on or in everything. Thrre are many different tricks to learn and thousands of ways to eat eggs and meats and veggies.0
