Hey everyone! I recently decided to join here after I had a doctor's appoint that ended up with me being shocked at what the scale told me.
I've always been a sweets-addict, it runs in my family. My grandpa got me addicted to sugar when I was little, and nobody really did a whole lot to stop me. In high school, I lost probably about 30 pounds. My sister and I would go to the gym together, go running on the track at night, and swim in the pool in the summertime. I moved to New York a few years ago, and I guess I've been slowly packing the pounds back on.
I know that a balance of healthy eating habits, and exercise are the keys to losing weight. Does anyone have advice on how to curb the sugar cravings, and to keep it away? Also, does anyone have an advice on how to keep eating healthy when you work 10+ hours every day? It's always so much "easier" to just order food or grab something to munch in the short breaks I'm given.
I definitely want to change my lifestyle and be healthy again! It is so difficult when you feel like you don't even have time to take care of yourself properly.
Any advice is appreciated! Looking forward to getting to know some of you.

hi, good luck, I had good luck with counting carbs 45- 60 per meal and 15 for snacks. but that isn't for everyone. also packing your food is helpful esp. snacks. so you don't hit the snack machine and you can track and journal your food. you will be surprised at what you have been eating w/out even knowing it. btw. I've been working on myself for a long time. only joined here last week seems helpful. I'm actually down 50 pounds in 7 years and still have a way to go. Hence the avatar.0

Hi,
Sugar was my best friend without me knowing it until I started to really look at what I eat. Don't get me wrong I still do eat cookies or chocolate but just not as much anymore. I started to increase my fruit intake to offset the process sugar I was eating to help crave that issue. Started to eat more healthy in balance to help keep the weight down and pressure off my joints.
Good luck on your journey am sure you will achieve your goals0
