Intermittent fasting anyone?

My trainer has started me on intermittent fasting. Apparently it is very good at targetting the fat and getting the metabolism going.

This is what is am doing.
stop eating at 8pm
fasting from 8pm-12pm the next day
Meal 1- small (shake and veggies)12pm
Meal 2- small (shake, veggies and 10 almonds)3:30
Meal 3- lots of protein, veggies!! Fat and healthy easily digestible carbs.before 8

I am looking for someone who has done this and their opinions? did it work, how do you feel? whn do you start seening results? what happens if I gain? is my RMR (resting metabolic rate) too high? or do I give it a chance to kick in?
also more clarification of what to actually eat as I am a vegan as well:)

Is my last meal of the day really my largest? I am not used to this as I have always tried to make my last meal the smallest.

Anyone?
