Working through injury

After a long standing series of injuies I am currently trying to dive back into exersise again. My health is very important to me, yet my body has it's share of restrictions. I have two torn rotator's, a brand new reconstructed knee and some sciatic issues... Yes, I laugh & cry somedays cause I feel like the tin man. Anyway, Aquafit is my exersise of choice so I will keep you posted!

I have surgery scheduled for September to reconstruct a torn ligament in my knee (ACL). So I'm working hard to gain muscle, strength and lose weight before hand because I know the rehab will be awfully long. I love aquasize! Nothing hurts in the water.

Hi there, we seem to have the same issues. I have one new knee and one fixed shoulder. I hope to start aquafit in the next class.
Other than that walking is my only othef exercise.

Add me as a friend if you like...

i've had a torn rotator cuff and the other was probably a torn rotator cuff but might have been frozen shoulder. i have a bum knee, weak ankles and bursitis (or something) in my hip plus tendonitis in my right elbow. have also had right wrist damage.

earlier this year i started walking like mad, and that's what hurt my hip and didn't do my knee or ankle any good. at that point i started physical therapy and as of may 1 began walking 15 minutes per day at a pace i could continue without pain. i upped it to 20 minutes after a couple weeks, then started working out with very light weights and resistance bands. i was doing better, walk up to 45 minutes (not too hard, not up and down hills), but overdid it the other day and now am not walking due to knee pain.

i'm also doing ab crunches (found a way to do them that doesn't hurt my hip) and calf raises for cardio, enough and fast enough to get my heartrate up to my target and keep it there, as well as other light exercises... and my physical therapist has me doing exercises that are helping my hip and shoulders gradually.

but walking lots was the best for me until i hurt my hip. i'm hoping it will continue to improve, and i'm still doing the PT exercises.
