Glandular fever totally corrupted my health regime

Hi, I'm brand new to this forum and decided to join because I'm at a loss of what to do and am not getting any help from my GP!
I'm 19 y/o female, healthy weight (8.4 stone and 5'5). I smoked from the age of 15 (not proud!) and have finally done away with it. Shortly after ditching the smoking I contracted glandular fever (Oct 2013) and have had it ever since. My experience of glandular fever with others had been that you are down and out for a few weeks with a pretty nasty cold, nap in the middle of the day then you are bouncing back within three months!

I have definitely not experienced this at all, and it's really starting to depress me. I've never had any particular physical ailment up until now apart from being mildly anaemic and having sinus problems and this is just hideous. Before I got diagnosed with it I had started to take up sports again, something I hadn't done since school, revolutionised my eating (was mostly a protein and a bit of carbs girl with not much else). Now it's 9 months down the line and I feel completely useless and immobilised.

My GP has next to no advice for me apart from 'wait it out', but my body is starting to change before my eyes and it's scaring me. I've always been very naturally slim, as are all my family, but I've started gaining to the extent where I might have a normal BMI and still be in the average category, but it doesn't look good on me. My skin has erupted with acne, my muscle definition in my thighs and calves has disappeared.

I am constantly fatigued, sleep all the time, can barely eat healthily any more as my stomach is so sensitive and I'm depressed and getting no advice! When my symptoms do finally disappear, how do I ease myself back into exercising? Anybody have any tips for speeding up recovery time, or know how to stop getting so depressed and feeling like a pale slug in bed day in day out?!
