i first joined in the summer of 2012 and lost approx 20lbs in 2 mths with the help of calorie counting and regularly hitting the gym (after losing an unknown but fair amount of weight through just adjusting my diet to eat in response to actual hunger, and not eating out of boredom like i had for most of my life). then i went back to university and let everything slide, and in the two years since i've put on 6kg, become totally sedentary, and my fitness is 0. now i have a couple of months before i start my masters and i'm determined to use them to get into slightly better shape, AND to keep exercising when i go back to university this time. i don't want to allow life events to derail what is supposed to be a lifestyle change. i know that i feel better in myself (more energy, more positive outlook) when i'm eating better and when i'm exercising regularly, so i NEED to keep that up!

i think i have about 100 lbs to lose to get to my goal weight, but i know that my goal might change along the way as i see how my body changes. ultimately i'm more concerned with feeling healthy, improving my fitness and getting my body to the point where it can do the things that it should be capable of doing. i've always been quite comfortable with my weight and so i haven't been very motivated to change, but now i feel like i'm not that person anymore and i want my body and my health to reflect that.

so there's my intro! :)
