How would you log this?

I frequently take my toddler (16mo) to the community pool to play in the water. I swim around, splash him, walk the pool with him, etc. He's pretty active, but I rarely get to really *swim* like I would in a lap pool. I have been logging this as "swimming: general, leisurely" for 1/2 of the time we spend in the pool - which comes out to 222cal/hr. Does this seem fairly accurate?

If you frequently spend a lot of time chasing your toddler around the house, park, and elsewhere along with playing with the toddler at the pool, I would increase my activity level. I wouldn't record this as exercise.0

For an hour there, I would probably log like 10 min of swimming and 20-30 min of leisurely pace walking.
But I am of similar mindset to what you describe...for example the other day I was in and out of various thrift stores & flea markets for 4 1/2 hours and logged it as 2 hours leisurely pace walking.
ETA - I am set to sedentary, and therefore log a lot of "little things" many deem unnecessary. If I were set to lightly active (or a higher level of activity) I would not log what you describe and would only log lap swimming.0 -
I wouldn't. I would re-calculate my daily calorie requirements based on a TDEE calculation and not worry about calorie "burn", simplify.0

I was following TDEE until recently, however since giving up BFing a month ago I felt that I was no longer seeing the results I had hoped for & felt unmotivated to exercise, so I am giving MFP's plan another try. It may work out, I may switch back, but at the very least it should help me shake things up!0
