How much weight did i lose?

Hello. In April 2013, I weighed 208 lbs and lost 15 lbs before I fell off the wagon and gained some back. So this January 2014 I decided to try again and was 200.5 lbs. Now I'm at 181 lbs. I count my weight loss from the 208 lbs but some people tell me I should only count from the 200.5 lbs. They say I lost 19.5 lbs while I say I lost 27. Even though I fell off the wagon, I still lost those pounds. What should I go by?

First off, it's silly (no offense, that's what I'd tell them) that they somehow care about this detail. But...of course you lost 27lbs, it's not there anymore, right? Just because it wasn't lost in a perfectly linear, textbook XX amount of pounds per week doesn't mean it doesn't count.0

I'm not sure why anyone is policing how you count it but you could just clarify that you have lost 27 from your highest weight, if you wanted to be precise.0

Your journey, your decision on how you want to track your weight. I don't think that falling off of the wagon means that the weight that you lost last year doesn't count. If it does then my ticker is wrong too but I'm not about to change it because "they" say so.
Congrats on your 27lb loss!0
