Cheating while on vacation?

This Monday I'm going on a 6 day trip with my sister. Will I completely blow everything I've accomplished when I eat out for 6 days? I know it will be next to impossible for me to calorie count or to figure out sodium levels in restaurant food. I won't be eating burgers or anything, but I know the food won't be good for me. My sister, who's a vegan, has already chosen the restaurants so at least I won't be eating high amounts of meat...I'm just worried about the salt and the portion sizes.

i would expect a gain when you first return due to the sodium levels in restaurant food
However, give it 3-4 days after you return for your body to rid itself of the water weight associated with that
I am sure if you are making good choices and not going over by to much you will be perfectly fine. If you calculate your maintain calories I am sure you will see it is quit higher than yours set to lose weight
You should be able to at least maintain no problem or only gain a lb if you are being mindful of what you eat
Have fun on your trip!!

It's a vacation, enjoy yourself. If you eat more than usual you may gain some water weight but six days can't do much damage long term.0

For some reason I usually do great while on vacation. I just returned from a week of practically no exercise (I did walk daily and a couple of low key hikes) and we used the grill every day for chicken, hamburgers, sausages, etc. I had chips or potato salad daily and we did eat out a couple of times and I lost 1.5 lbs. Good luck and enjoy your trip!
I did drink a lot of water!0 -
Just try eating less. Take tiny bites and drink water after them and then you won't stuck to much food . Try eating more vegetables like ( lettuce, cucumbers and cabbage ) that make you feel full and have a bit of calories ( you should eat more salads and less bread/ pasta that make you feel hungry all the time and makes you eat a lot!!! Actually meat and fish are good for dieting (atkins diet) because it makes you feel full !0

Just use common sense, if a restaurant serves you an obscene portion you needn't eat it all........0

Just enjoy the food and walk around a lot. My holidays always involve either more walking or more swimming (city or seaside!), so there's always a bigger burn. Treat it as a maintenance week.
When I get back from holidays I'm usually a couple of pounds higher than I was when I set off, but that weight disappears as soon as I go back to normal - indicating it's just water weight. It also always takes at least one fat pound with it!
Have fun, and don't worry!0 -
If you are on holiday just enjoy and don't fret. I came back from holiday in Italy and gained a stone, this was due to over eating before and after the holiday and not getting out of 'holiday mode'. Totally my own fault, i know if i had only enjoyed the food whilst away it would be off in no time. So, in a nutshell enjoy and when your home get back on it! Hope you have a great time!0

Sodium in restaurant food is not going to affect your weight loss goals. Make good choices. Be wise about desert choices because they can destabilize the plan. Have fun.0
