In sixty years of my life (and I have lived all over the world under many conditions (jungles, mountains, deserts, woods, or just in the local neighborhood)), I have yet to meet a snail that has creeped into my hooch and attacked any of my food sources.

Snail trails ending at my bread would have given me a hint.

Unless they were the new ninja snails that I have heard so much about in the news.

Of course if you have a drain pipe that is open to the outside, buy a cork and put it into the drain pipe!

    Just one ole man's opinion!

You have slugs INSIDE your house? DAFUQ?
they come up through the drains, we live in a rental house so there's not much we can do about it in terms of changing the layout. But my parents house also get slugs but under the gap in the door.

That sounds to be a problem. Do you have sewer, or a septic system? If the slugs are coming up through the drain pipes, that its a sign of a problem with your pipes, which may be a larger issue than the added protein in your bread.....
probably I reckon our landlord cheaped out every possible way he could think of and it very evasive (it's an individual not a company). We are saving up to move ASAP but were not quite there yet.

Almost as nasty as the time my mom went to Sonic and ordered a Lemon Berry Slush. She was drinking it out of a straw and something came up the straw that she thought was a strawberry but had a weird consistency. She spit it out on her napkin and it was a dead fly.

Is it wrong that this thread reminded me of a school camp where a friend and I tried to get some space to ourselves by, at a normal conversational volume, discussing the grossest things we could think of?

Good times. The breakfast muffins at that camp were awesome and distributed per table.

Oh man, this made me gag! It probably shouldn't though, cause when I was a kid I would see ants crawling on the side walk and then squish and eat them. I was hoping that this was a made up memory, but childhood friends confirmed it. Ugh.

I was halfway through a bowl of old cereal I had found when I noticed that about 1/3 of my cereal was moving.

On the plus side I think we can safely say I won't be feeling the need to eat anything for the next few hours...

Same here. I have contact nausea.

This is why everything I cook ends up in the fridge or securely wrapped.
