I've done this weight loss thing over and over and as soon as I get to my goal, I for some reason always wind up going back to where I was. I often times compare myself to Oprah - my weight is always up or down. I think what happens is when I get close to where I want to be, I think "Oh, I can skip this work out" or "I've been good for so long, pizza won't hurt this one time" but then it ends up continuing.
My question is, what do you do to keep yourself motivated when you are reaching your weight loss goals? Is there anything that helps you when you are having a craving for something unhealthy? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Have a big goal that you are shooting for. For instance, I'm spending the next year preparing for a physique show. Frankly, that scares me a little, so it keeps me pushing hard and sticking to my nutrition so I am in optimal shape for it.
Secondly, you need a big, deep-seated WHY. Why do you want this. I'm not talking about I want to look good at a wedding. Think to yourself, how will me reaching these goals change my life? How will that make me feel? What will it allow me to do that I cannot do now? How will those things change me, and the people around me, for the better? Visualize those things. They will keep you going.
Finally, you need a support system. A group of people that will hold you accountable to do what you say you are going to do. I help to run support groups through Facebook. We have lots of people in there that are improving themselves and helping everyone else to stay accountable. We teach about proper nutrition and how to exercise. I'd be happy to chat with you about it if that is something that you're looking for.

I think one of the most important things to success is to not deny yourself the unhealthy foods all the time. I have at least one unhealthy meal every week, but I log those calories and move right on and so far its helped me lose quite a bit of weight.
One of the reasons most people fail is that they think they need to eat like a nutritionist to lose weight, you don't! You could eat Mcdonalds all day and still lose weight so long as you don't over do it. Now I would not suggest eating bad all the time to lose weight, but allowing yourself to indulge as much as you need to can help you ease into a healthier lifestyle.
When I started I just ate what I wanted and then slowly got rid of the unhealthy things, I still have some ice cream and I still every now and then eat something fried, but that is ok. Don't go cold turkey with what you like or it will just lead to failure.0
