Net vs. Goal Calories

I am falling back into my old ways of focusing on my goal calorie number when I should be focused on the Net. I tend to have huge calorie burns every day with multiple exercise, a lot of activity and movement and I always get close to over 20 thousand steps according to my Fitbit. As a result I end up with a negative net number, not good. But I tend to focus on keeping my calories at my target which is set at 1200. Granted I have had days, weekends, vacation, etc. where I've gone way over that goal but **** happens. I am consistently holding a low or negative net. I know I could increase my calories by eating more high calorie foods but my body just doesn't respond well to heavy carbs and high calories. I have been eating some peanut butter and I've been going over my carbs with healthy stuff but am still zoned in on my target number. Something inside of me is just stuck on that number vs. the net number. When I try to get my net up to my 1200 target I feel like I am eating too much! Anyone else feel like this?

Thanks
