I have brown hair. This is what I look like right now (and yes i'm in a bathroom stall taking a progres picture a couple of months ago :laugh: )

I am thinking about doing the blonde highlights for the summer. My husband likes my long with the natural color, but I feel like I want a change. This is me with blonde highlights about 3 years ago. Please excuse the cheesy look on my face LOL!

i always love highlights- most people don't even notice them much if they are done right. I try to keep my color the way it was as a young adult (blond) and Nice n' Easy are my best friends. Of course here in Florida in the summer time, the highlights tend to just show up

I think the highlights look great. I would do that for the summer.

One of the reasons I am thinking of not doing it is because it takes a lot of maintnance to keep it looking good. I'm not sure if i have time for all of that. I just want something fun and different for the summer.

Do you think my daughter would freak out and not recognize me?

How old is your daughter?

I've never colored/highlighted my hair. I know I'm too lazy for the upkeep. Gonna have to when these high-ho silvers completely take over though. :grumble:

I love your typo- you wrote food instead of good :laugh: I think your subconcious is getting to you- Try a small amount at first- highlights that are natural fade with the sun so just doing a little at a time works in- also right now you are having to do a lot of stuff (life style change) that is frustrating- will your highlights lift your self- esteem? or will they become a frustration (like ignoring the chocolate!:brokenheart: )

My wife has asked me this question a few times and I tell her that it isn't the hair color but how she carries herself. Another words if the blonde highlights are going make you feel sexy then you are going to look sexy. My wife is so beatiful when she is happy with herself, it just shows, she beams.
I equal this to an outfit or new dress that just makes you feel beautiful, it just puts a hop in your step.

I think most people look their best when they are confident and happy. It just shines through.

Fatsis, I agree. I think when I feel sexy, I walk around like i'm somebody special. Maybe my husband doesn't want me walking around acting all snooty and crap. LOL!

I thought, before I looked at the pics, I was going to say go for the highlights 100%
BUT I really like your hair dark..very healthy/striking....

It looks nice either way though....so go for it, if it will make u feel better...
My only rec so you don't have as much maintenance is go a little softer/more subtle with the highlights

as a brunette who is currently blonde...i say go for it!!!! the upkeep is kind of a pain in the butt, but i love my hair like this (for now lol) so it's worth it! i think the highlights look great on u in the pics and it's a fun look for summer!!!!

Maybe instead of blonde do a caramel light brown, or a red tone for a change. These aren't so dramatic as blonde. Good luck!

I just did mine super-blonde for the summer... at first I wasn't too sure (quite an eye-popper at first) but now I am beginning to love it! So glad I went blonder!!! Just a funny side note - when I told my hair dresser I wanted to go blonder, I said "Make me look as dumb as possible!"... she got a kick out of that! Hahah! :laugh: No offense to anyone! :noway:
