Hi,
My daily calorie allowance is 1890, this allows me to loose 2lbs a week.
So this last week, I have been suffering from bad tonsils and so have not been to the gym, I have still eaten with my calorie target, going over just once.
Before this week it seemed the weight loss had slowed right down, however I seem to have lost 4lb this week without any gym work.
The question is, do you loose weight regardless of going to the gym if you eat with in your calorie target?
I won't stop going to the gym, as I enjoy it and enjoy the workout, but just curious as to how I continued to lose weight without any exercise.
One theory I have is that the weight I have lost this week is due to the workouts I did last week, is this true or is that completely wrong.
Thank you

yes you will lose weight in a calorie deficit without exercise. all exercise does in terms of weight loss is essentially allow you to eat more since you burn more calories
as to why you saw that sudden 4 lb loss, you were most likely retaining water in the previous weeks (exercise causes water retention), and this week you didnt workout so you didnt retain much water, which is showing a difference in the scales0 -

I find that what I did last week shows on the scales this week so you might show a lower loss next week- don't panic, just keep on going and you should be back on track the week after . Hope you get well soon xx0
