Facing surgery #6 on right leg and can't walk more than 3 blocks for a while...suggestions? How else besides managing food can this be done?

Weight loss can definitely be achieved without exercise. Although exercise is great for many reasons it is not the key factor to shedding pounds. Caloric intake is what's most important. Watch your cals and log everything. When you are able to start working out again it will be an added benefit to weight loss, added energy, toning, and just that overall wonderful feeling. Good luck with your surgery!!!

Losing weight is 80% diet, 20% exercise. It definitely can be done--all you need is a calorie defecit, it doesn't matter where it comes from. I hope your surgery goes well!

Weight loss is possible without exercise. Matter of fact, you could lose weight quicker because you are less hungry, and you are not building muscles like when you are exercising. But the weight loss it is usually temporary, and you can gain extra weight on top of what you have lost.
